Tours of the buildings, cemeteries, Britton Lane Battlefield and other historic areas can be self guided or escorted by one of The Big Black Creek Historical Association's members. We tell graveside history of individuals whose final resting place is in the cemetery.

The tour bus arrived around 8 P.M. and were in awe at the number of candles illuminating the cemetery markers and the history representations by our character actors.

The Big Black Creek Historical Association's first "Cemetery Walk" October 24,2009 was a big hit with everyone.
The crowds started to arrive at 4:30 P.M. and the last tour finished at 9:00 P.M. Several hundred guests listened to Ghost stories told by DN English, walked amoung the old graves and listened to accounts of the lives of various Denmark residents by family members at the grave side.
Guests traveled from the old 1854 Denmark church building by hay wagons.
Several horses and Confederate riders were on hand for the guests to observe.

Telling the true story of 2 Confederats soldiers who escaped capture one sunday morning during the Civil War by hiding under their girlfriend's hoop skirts while in Sunday service in the Denmark Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Neville was responsible for preserving the history of Denmark and surrounding area. His papers are at Union University in Jackson, TN.
