This is the Denmark Presbyterian Chirch and the original bell stand, the year is unknown but probably the early 1900's.
On October 14, 1909 a destructive tornado struck Denmark destroying a good part of the town including the Baptist and Methodist church buildings. Mr. Allen Barnes was killed by the tornado leaving a wife who could not afford to raise their new baby. The Snipes family took in the baby boy and raised him.
Mr. Barnes tombstone in The Denmark Presbyterian Cemetery. The newspaper listed his first name as "Allen."
The circus came to Denmark Tuesday April 20th., we think the year was 1909.
Jennie D. Bryant, Born January 16, 1862 Died February 26, 1955. She was a long time resident of Denmark, TN.

Steven A. Carter owned and farmed many acres in Denmark. Stevie, as he was known, always wore a tie and dress shirt if he was working the fields or walking around the area.

This appears to have been the walk way to the house from Main Street, about 30 yards away.
Brick pillars and some blackened and rotted wood is about all that remains.
The shamrock roof trim didn't seem to bring luck.
