Big Black Creek Historical Association

Located in the middle of a farm field a short distance from Huntersville, Madison County, Tennessee. This was our first major cemetery clearing project.

November 2008 

Heavily wooded and full of briars and thick vines.

Chainsaws were necessary to clear the trees and vines.

Temporarily moving a tombstone to avoid damage when close by trees were cut.

Replacing Doctor John H. Meriwether's tombstone after all trees had been removed. There are 11 members of the Meriwether family buried in Crittenden Cemetery.

Completion on December 7, 2008.
