Big Black Creek Historical Association

Old Soldier's Cemetery is located in Denmark, TN. off of RT. 223 across from The Denmark Presbyterian Church building. It is no longer used and is maintained by The Big Black Creek Historical Association.

Major Joab Wilson's final resting place in The Old Soldier's Cemetery. 

William H. Wilson has a poignant inscription on his stone, he was 17 years, 9 months and 12 days old when he died on Sept. 30, 1834.

"Remember youth when this you see

That you will shortly follow me

So then prepare to meet the Lord

By trusting solely to his word."
