Cooper - Pirtle Cemetery
Only 4 stones are visible and several temporary markers from Shackelford Funeral Directors, only 2 of these could be read. It's obvious there are more burials in the area by the sunken spots in the ground.

Reading tombstones can be dangerous as Mary shows here.
We came across several neatly spaced rows of these unmarked stones obviously marking graves
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob & Maggie Hillhouse
A close up of one of the unmarked grave marker stones.
House remains in the woods close to the Ruffin Cemetery.. Possibly the residence of members in the cemetery?
We came across this cemetery while enroute the the site in the Unknown Cemetery pictures below.
The Cobb Cemetery is another on our list to photograph and possibly clear.
Jeff, a visitor to the website, told us of an unknown cemetery that is probably under all this Kudzu. He advised that as a young boy, coffins buried at the bottom of the hill would sometimes become unearthed and slide down the hill.
Clearing this one would be a real challenge and investigation would be done only in the dead of winter!
Located close to the intersection of Collins and Bowman roads.
