The Hatchie Bridge project
The wheels are in motion to install a new floor in "The bridge to nowhere" as it has been referred to since it was built around 1929 but never opened due to the lack of a road on the opposite side of the river. The plan is to turn the bridge into a park and gathering place.

Tennessee Civil War Trails
We are working on getting Estonallie Landing placed on The Tennessee Civil War Trails, our Denmark church building and Britton Lane Battlefield are already on the trails. This trail starts in Virginia and winds through to Texas.
Cemetery clearing projects are on hold during the summer for several reasons including heat, snakes, ticks and in some cases, crops are planted around the old cemeteries. The BBCHA's president, Billy King continues to mow and spray weed killer in the cemeteries that have previously cleared by us. Donations for weed killer would surely be appreciated.

The Madison County Commission voted Monday to help fund the restoration of an old church, to help a local ministry and to resolve a county rezoning issue.
The commission voted to approve a funding contribution to restore the Denmark Presbyterian Church, the oldest church in Madison County, according to County Mayor Jimmy Harris. The commission voted 21-1 to approve $62,000, which is half of a grant match.
The money will be matched with funds from the county highway department and a grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
One commissioner was not present and two passed on voting. "This church will be there for many, many years to come," Harris said. "This is a part of our historical heritage so it behooves us to do what we can."
